Cheval Blanc Randheli under monitoring following suspected Covid-19 case
A foreigner in Randheli is being tested after developing symptoms, placed under self-isolation
The resort is under monitoring until test results come back
While a total of 13 people has tested to Covid-19 in the Maldives, they are all foreigners and from tourist related facilities

Cheval Blanc Randheli has been placed under monitoring, following a suspected Covid-19 case.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) made the announcement via Twitter late Wednesday night.

It said that a foreign national in Randheli is being tested after developing Covid-19 like symptoms, adding that this individual “has been placed under home-isolation”.

The resort is also under monitoring until the results come back.

Monitoring measures on three resorts and a yacht were lifted on Wednesday as well, after negative test results; they are Gili Lankanfushi, Anantara Kihavah and Furaveri Island Resort, as well as My Sky Yacht.

Authorities on Wednesday revealed that they will be conducting Covid-19 tests 'even if there is the slightest symptom'.

All travel between resorts and islands have been temporarily banned as authorities work to curb an outbreak in the country, however, resorts are allowed guest transfers from the airport. While guests sometimes stay overnight in the capital awaiting transfer to resort, this is currently banned as well.

While a total of 13 people has tested to Covid-19 in the Maldives, they are all foreigners and from tourist related facilities. They are;

  • Five from Kuredu Island Resort (including the only locally transmitted cases reported thus far)
  • Two from Sandies Bathala Maldives
  • Two from Kuramathi Island Resort
  • Two from Anantara Dhigu, and
  • Two from liveaboard ‘Island Safari 1’
