The Maldives Meteorological Service has said that most of the country should expect heavy showers and thunderstorms.
The service on Wednesday issued a white alert, which in the local office’s scale stipulates that residents be aware of possible severe weather in the coming days, from Haa Alifu to Gaafu Dhaal atolls. This alert will stand from 09:00 to 16:00.
Winds are expected to blow as fast as 10 to 20 miles per hour in the north-western atolls, and five to 13 miles per hour in central and southern atolls.
The service further reported that seas are expected to rough and warned travelers to take caution.
