Corrections authority investigating attack on officers as "serious crime"

Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has launched “serious investigations” into a case where a number of corrections officers were attacked.

The authority revealed that their officers, property and buildings were deliberately attacked on 14 March, last Saturday.

MCS stated that they are investigating the case as a “serious matter”, going on to highlight that the Maldives Police Service (MPS) has assured that the authority will receive full support and assistance from the service should MCS seek it.

Similarly, the corrections authority has urged the people to work in unity, at such a critical time where the relevant authorities are taking the necessary measures in the government’s efforts to prevent and control the spread of the Novel Coronavirus.
