The condition of the 70-year-old being treated for the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) at Dharumavantha Hospital is stable, the authorities have revealed.
Dr. Moosa Hussain revealed this during the government's press conference on Sunday night. It was earlier revealed that the 70-year-old's condition is worsening, and he was being supplied oxygen as his oxygen levels were dropping.
The individual tested positive from Sandies Bathala Maldives along with spouse, and both were transferred to Dharumavantha Hospital as the man required further treatment.
While authorities on Saturday revealed that his condition is improving, Dr. Hussain said that he is “stable” now.
The two are admitted at the 16th floor of the hospital for treatment after they began showing symptoms. Although they turned negative to the disease the first time round, a second test is being conducted.
The 11th floor of Dharumavantha Hospital has been specially allocated to provide treatment for those who experience deterioration due to the fatal virus.
The unit has the capacity to provide treatment for up to 10 people at once, Murad stated at a press conference earlier.
Thus far, there have been 13 confirmed cases of the virus in the Maldives, all foreigners and from resorts.
