Majlis approves Dr. Hussain Niyaz as Non-Resident Ambassador to Egypt
All 74 members present unanimously voted to pass his approval
Dr. Niyaz was appointed as the Maldives Ambassador to United Arab Emirates during 2017
The Parliament’s Committee on National Security and Foreign Relations also passed his approval

The People’s Majlis has approved Dr. Hussain Niyaz’s nomination as the Non-Resident Ambassador of Maldives to Egypt.

All 74 members present at the parliament sitting on Tuesday unanimously voted to approve Dr. Niyaz’s nomination to the post.

Dr. Niyaz was appointed as the Maldives Ambassador to United Arab Emirates during 2017 by former president Abdulla Yameen.

The Parliament’s Committee on National Security and Foreign Relations looked into the nominations forwarded by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih as per Article 115 (L) of the Maldives Constitution which states that the president shall “appoint members of diplomatic missions to foreign countries and international organizations in consultation with the People’s Majlis.”
