A Maldivian girl sustained serious injuries after a fall from a high-rise building in neighboring Sri Lanka.
The incident is to have taken place on Sunday evening.
Deputy High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Aslam Shakir told RaajjeMV that the child is just two and a half years, and that she is currently under treatment at a hospital there.
While doctors have confirmed that her injuries are serious, the Maldives High Commission in Sri Lanka has arranged Aasandha insurance.
The circumstance of her fall remains unclear, including the floor from which she fell.
RaajjeMV understands that the incident took place in an area where a number of Maldivians reside.
