A hearing on the corruption charges raised against former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb set for Tuesday, has been cancelled.
While the hearing was set for 2pm on Tuesday, the Criminal Court revealed that it was cancelled following a request from the defence.
The court did not disclose on when the hearing will be rescheduled.
New corruption charges were raised against the former VP last September, after a foiled attempt to flee the country via a tugboat. While he was sentenced to three months and 18 months over the matter, this has since ended.
However, he remains under custody as there is a court order to keep him in remand until his corruption cases conclude.
