Volley Championship: DSC takes trophy after beating defending champions
 
DSC won the match three sets to two

Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC) has won the National Volley Championship after defeating the defending champion, Police Club.

While the finals took place at the Youth Center on Sunday, DSC players won the match three sets to two.

The club was awarded the championship trophy in the Men’s Division after the thrilling finals.

The sets in the finals were 13 – 25, 29 – 27, 25 – 22, 22 – 25, and 15 – 13.

While police players showed excellent performance throughout the match, the team took the first set with ease, during which players Ali Huzam and Ismail Saajid excelled.

The second set began with DSC players stepping up its game and consequently won the set 29 – 27 with the exemplary performance from Ahmed Abdul Kareem, captain of the team and foreign players Mubashir Raja and Idrees Mohamed.

DSC also scored several points throughout the third set of the match with the help from Adam Naseem, however, police players came from behind and took the set 25 – 22.

DSC won the last set 15 – 13.

Speaking after the match, Police Club’s coach Fathuhullah Waheed commended the winning team’s performance and teamwork.
