The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) is in talks with businesses to garner aid that would go to the four best teams among the clubs qualifying for the Minivan Championship league.
Bassaam Adil Jaleel, the association’s president, said he is attempting to garner MVR 1.5 million for each team.
He further said that the association was working for other administrative changes – such as appointing a full-time general-secretary, developing the women’s team, and
FAM issued the funds it promised earlier for clubs competing in the first division on Sunday.
Lots were drawn earlier this month to decide which clubs would represent which corporation and a total of eight clubs received funds from state-owned enterprises.
