"State resources should not be used for campaigns!": Opposition
The opposition released a press statement claiming that the incumbent government fails to keep the promises they make
They appealed for supporters of former president Yameen and patriots not to fall for these false promises.
They claim that the country cannot be saved from its current circumstances unless voters choose PPM candidates.

The opposition comprised of Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM) and People’s National Congress (PNC), has accused the main ruling party, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) of using state resources to fund campaigns for the upcoming Local Council Elections.

The opposition released a press statement claiming that the incumbent government fails to keep the promises they make, which is evident by the recent incidents of the past few days.

They state that the main ruling party is once again making promises they do not intend to fulfil and appealed for supporters of former president Yameen and patriots not to fall for these false promises.

The opposition further accuses MDP of using state resources to fund the party's campaigns for the Local Council Elections slated for April 4th.

Moreover, they claim that the country cannot be saved from its current circumstances unless voters choose PPM candidates.

While the opposition has alleged that MDP has used state funding for campaign purposes, a complaint has been lodged against Speaker Nasheed at the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) accusing him of using the parliaments funding during campaign trips.

The opposition has also, on previous occasions, submitted complaints at the ACC against President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Speaker Mohamed Nasheed, and Minister of Defence, Mariya Didi, accusing them of abusing state resources.
