MDP's Thiladhunmathi atoll tour set to begin on 12 January

Maldivian Democratic Party’s Thiladhunmathi atoll tour is set to commence on 12 January.

The reveal was made by the main ruling party via a statement on Sunday, which reads that the purpose of the trip is to meet with residents of Thiladhunmathi, which is the biggest administrative area of Maldives consisting of Haa Dhaal and Haa Alif atolls.

While preparations for the upcoming Local Council Elections are currently underway, the party opened applications for interested individuals to contest for the party’s tickets through primaries, to be submitted before 4pm on 10 January, a Friday.

The delegation of the party’s leadership led by Speaker and Former President Mohamed Nasheed, along with parliamentarians representing the constituencies will be visiting all the islands from Haa Dhaal and Haa Alif atoll during the trip.

Campaigns for the upcoming Local Council Elections 2020 is also set to commence throughout the trip, during which the Speaker will also be inaugurating the Northern Conference to be held in Kulhudhuffushi island.

MDP also opened the opportunity for 300 members of the party from the general public, to participate at a bid of MVR 100.
