Goodies Sports Club has risen to the second spot on the National Volley League table after beating Police Club in Friday night’s match.
Goodies won the match three sets to two and this is the second time the team has beaten Police Club in the ongoing league.
In the first match against Police, Goodies took the win three sets to one.
During the match held at the Youth Center, Police Club players took the first two sets, 25 – 22 and 25 – 18. During the winning sets, players Romesh, Ali Huzam and Ismail Saajid showed excellent performance.
However, Goodies players stepped up their game and won the last three sets, 27 – 25, 25 – 23 and 15 – 13, where players Hassan Nilaam and Captain Hussain Visham performed exceptionally.
While Dhivehi Sifainge Club was leading the first round of the league having the top spot in the table, it remains in the top spot with 12 points with Goodies at its tail with 11 points and Police Club at the third spot with 10 points.
During the first round of the league, Sports Club Hawks was eliminated from round one after losing all the matches.
