Police won the match three sets to one

Police Club has moved up the league table in the ongoing Men’s Division of the National Volley League after beating Dhivehi Sifainge Club.

This is the first defeat Dhivehi Sifainge Club has had to face in the first round of the league.

Police team won the match against Dhivehi Sifain three sets to one. The sets were scored 22 – 25, 25 – 20, 25 – 18 and 21 – 25 during the match held at the Youth Center.

Police took the lead in the first set for the most of the set, with players Ismail Saajid and Ali Huzam having shown exemplary performance into the beginning.

However, the set was won by the Sifainge team at the last minute, by foreign player Mubashar Raja’s excellent performance.

Luck was on Police team’s side for the next three sets.

Dhivehi Sifainge Club was leading the first round of the league having the top spot in the table, and it only faced defeat against the police team.

The team comes first with police and Gudis team tailing behind in second and third spots with nine points. Sports Club City comes fourth with three points.

While the second round of the league is set to commence on Friday, Sports Club Hawks was eliminated from round one after losing all the matches.
