The Kendhikulhudhoo council has asked the president to establish policing services in the island.
Members of the council made the appeal during a meeting with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Sunday, where they shared concerns including challenges to proper waste management, delays in the sewerage network project, the need for upgrading healthcare and requirements for additional resources at the school.
They also sought the administration’s assistance to promote tourism.
The president is to have affirmed that work will be conducted with relevant stakeholders, to address the concerns raised by the councilors.
