One bike did a u-turn and collided with another going the opposite way.

A 64-year-old man has been injured in an accident that took place on Ghazee Road of Addu City-Hithadhoo.

According to the Maldives Police Service (MPS), the man was injured when the did a u-turn on his motorcycle and collided against a motorcycle behind him.

The accident was reported to MPS around 04:08 pm on Wednesday evening.

The 64-year-old man driving the motorcycle suffered bruises on his forehead in addition to breaking his right leg. Authorities report the man had a license.

The other vehicle involved in the accident was driven by a 25-year-old man without a license. He was not injured in the accident but both motorcycles suffered various amounts of damage.

Authorities state that the matter is undergoing further investigation.
