Harbor construction of seven islands contracted to MTCC
 
Two out of the seven projects are a completely new design, the remaining five are for upgrades

The Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure has tasked Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) with harbor development projects in seven islands.

The contract was signed during a special ceremony at the ministry building on Tuesday, by Fathimath Shana Farooq and Shahid Hussain Moosa, Chief Operating Officer of MTCC.

While two out of the seven projects are a completely new design, the remaining five are for upgrades.

Under the contract, MTCC is tasked to design and build a harbor in Mandhoo island of Alif Dhaal atoll for a price of MVR 37,358,709 and it is to be completed within 330 days and the project in Landhoo island of Noonu atoll is contracted for MVR 35,603,963.70 to be completed within 420 days.

Harbor upgrade in Hulhudheli island of Dhaalu atoll is contracted to be finished within 362 days for a price of MVR 39,829,878.87 and in Dharanboodhoo island of Faafu atoll for MVR 38,296,692.30 to be completed within 397 days.

Further, MTCC is also to upgrade the harbor in Rasmaadhoo island of Raa atoll for a total of MVR 19,055,312.60 within 365 days, under the contract.

Other islands that were contracted under the agreement include Bilehfahi in Shaviyani atoll for MVR 31,607,039.72, and Lhaimagu in Shaviyani atoll for MVR 56,321,095.38 within a period of 480 days.
