GIS wins gold in World's Scholars Cup
 
The World's Scholars Cup is an international academic program held in a tournament format.
 
This includes 17 gold and 12 silver medals by the junior team, and 8 gold and 23 silver medals by the senior team.
 
The school won a total of 70 medals this year.

Ghiyasuddin International School (GIS) has won gold medals, amongst other achievements, at the The World's Scholars Cup, held at Yale University in New Haven, United States.

The World's Scholars Cup is an international academic program for students to participate in teams of three, held in a tournament format.

The school won a total of 70 medals this year. This includes 17 gold and 12 silver medals by the junior team, in addition to 18 gold and 23 silver medals by the senior team. Both teams also won a trophy.

While speaking to RaajjeMV, Deputy Principal of GIS, Ahmeema Abdul Ghafoor, stated that this is a great achievement for the school and highlighted the role of parents in this success.

She further stated that such international competitions exposes students to global events and better learning experiences.

Students learn much more than the curriculum given by the WSC when they go on international trips like this. Their eyes are opened to how the world works outside of their country, so it is a wonderful learning experience

Students that participated in the competition were also appreciative of the opportunity, and expressed their appreciation to the school in helping them achieve these awards.

Since reforming from a public school to an an international private school in 2010, Ghiyasuddin International School has been participating in several international competitions and bringing home many awards.

As such, the school has previously won awards at the World's Scholars Cup in the past few years.
