Hathif Hilmy and Hussain Mazeed have been sworn onto the High Court bench.
Chief Justice Dr.Ahmed Abdulla Didi swore in Hathif Hilmy of G.Daisy Fehi and Hussain Mazeed of Ma. Wayside flat 705 during a special ceremony held on Thursday night.
High Court judges receive a salary of MVR36,000 in addition to a living allowance of MVR15,000 and a risk allowance of MVR3300.
According to an amendment by the 17th parliament, there are 11 seats on the High Court bench. The Judicial Service Commission announced two vacancies on the bench during October this year, which was contested by 12 applicants.
Amendments to the high court regulations were ratified on 18th June 2017.
