Srilankan authorities have issued a public announcement searching for a Maldivian national in connection to the vandalism of religious idols in the town of Mawanella.
According to the authorities, the suspect has close connections with the leader of the group that vandalized buddha statues in December last year.
The authorities have released a drawing of the suspect via Twitter on Tuesday.
They further disclosed that a suspect is a man between the ages of 30-35 yeard old.
Authorities have requested the public to contact the SriLankan Department of Criminal Investigation at 0112326936 or 0718591774 with any information regarding the suspect.
