Vice President Faisal Naseem has encouraged councilors from Ukulhas island in Alif Alif atoll to increase awareness programmes within the island community to instill workforce participation and the love for Islam among youth.
During a meeting at the President’s Office on Thursday, VP Naseem urged the councilors of Ukulhas island to consider taking pro-active approaches to involve the island’s youth community in several activities in order to ensure equal participation.
Further, VP Naseem was briefed on the pressing issues surfacing for the island community and details of the ongoing development efforts in the island.
While many requirements of the community were shared, issues noted include the need to improve educational facilities at the school, space constraints at the health center and to better waste management services.
Having listened to their concerns, VP Naseem assured that the government will take the necessary action after thorough discussions are held with relevant authorities in order to tackle the issues at hand.
