The Elections Commission (EC) has decided to create an awareness plan aimed at citizens for the 2018 presidential election.
The decision was made in EC’s 403rd general conference.
In the conference headed, EC has also established the areas to place the ballot boxes for the election in September. The ballot boxes will be placed in foreign countries with Maldivian communities, resorts, industrial areas, and prisons.
EC has also appointed member Ahmed Akram as the commission’s spokesperson.
EC is also conducting training programmes for the election, with the first programme held on Saturday. Commission members are also set to travel to the atolls on April 24 to train island officials.
