Fenaka donates MVR one mill to victims of chemical warehouse fire
The chemical warehouse fire took the life of one, destroyed or damaged 26 buildings and displaced around 400 people

Fenaka Coporation donates MVR one million to the victims of the Chemical warehouse fire, that took place in the Henveiru ward of the capital on September 20.

Defence Minister Mariya Didi was presented the donation, by Fenaka's Managing Director Ahmed Saeed Mohamed, at a ceremony held on Wednesday.

Speaking at the ceremony, Saeed stated that Fenaka's employees are sympathetic towards humanitarian causes and wishes to offer aid.

“Our employees have been eager and restless to help the victims ever since the tragedy occurred. We decided that every employee will donate any amount they wish from their salary"

Defense Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi expressed her appreciation to the employees of Fenaka, and assured them the donation would reach the victims of the fire.

National Disaster Management Authority’s (NDMA) chief executive, Hisan Hassan, who was also present at the ceremony thanked Fenaka employees.

Calling them "role models," Hassan said that NDMA has always worked "closely" with Fenaka in issues related to the people.

Hisaan also noted that NDMA’s procedures have been updated since the new administration took office.

Further noting that a fund for the victims of the fire has been established, he stated that the new guidelines and policies guarantee complete transparency with such funds.

The fire broke out inside a chemical warehouse at H.Thilafushige on September 20th. The tragedy took the life of one, destroyed or damaged 26 buildings and displaced around 400 people.
