The Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services received 40 child abuse cases this August.
Ministry statistics revealed that a total of 101 cases of violence against children were reported.
Out of a total of 168 cases, 23 are to do with negligence and 23 are to do with physical abuse, revealed the ministry. The total amount is 21 percent less compared to the same amount of cases in July, said the ministry.
Eight cases are to do with mental abuse, three cases of bullying and violence from other minors, two cases of cyber bullying and two cases of children being witness to domestic violence.
Throughout August, two cases to do with denying the rights of children and denying their identifications were reported.
Further, the ministry revealed that four cases were received regarding child behavior.
The ministry further revealed that they had received 25 cases of domestic violence within August.
Eight cases of physical abuse, three cases of using power and influencing children, two cases of sexual abuse and two rape cases were reported as well.
In addition, the ministry also revealed that they had received 10 reports of negligence towards the elderly and the disabled.
Nine cases of self-inflicted harm were also included among those attended by the ministry during August.
