Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been contracted with the harbor development and upgrade of several islands.

The Ministry of Planning and Infrastructure signed contracts with MTCC where Director Fathmath Shana Farooq signed on behalf of the government and MTCC’s CEO Hassan Shah signed on behalf of MTCC.

MTCC was contracted the construction of harbors in Ihavandhoo in Haa Alif atoll and Maduvvari in Raa atoll.

The company is tasked with building a 284-meter long breakwater, a 178-meter long revetment and 95-meter key wall in Ihavandhoo.

It is also to construct a walkway, a ramp and a pavement measuring 4581.50 square meters along with a 120-meter groin.

Under the agreement for the project in Ihavandhoo which is estimated to cost MVR 51,725,810, MTCC is also to install 20 mooring blocks, two navigational lights and 27 harbor lights.

The harbor development project in Maduvvari is estimated to cost MVR 68,665,360 and requires the construction of a 411-meter long breakwater, 135-meter long revetment and 566-meter key wall.

Further, it requires two harbor lights, 29 navigational masts and 14 mooring blocks to be installed.

MTCC will be also be constructing a ramp and a walkway under the agreement.
