Traffic officers had issued over 700 parking violation stickers from 17-23 August.
Police’s weekly statistics show that a total of 557 vehicles were checked during this period, with officers issuing 769 parking violation stickers; 47 vehicles were towed.
There were 43 accidents reported in this period, and 13 accident related injuries.
According to the statics, top traffic violations in the week include violation of traffic signs, insurance and road worthiness as well as underage driving.
Police said that 140 individuals were caught without a license and that 107 did not have the license card with them when checked by officers. In addition, 115 individuals were driving without valid insurance and road worthiness and that 57 had failed to pay annual fee, while 17 vehicles were stopped for traffic violations and 52 for over speeding.
Police are to have issued advisories or taken action 14 individuals for driving without a valid license, 38 for driving while on phone or headset, seven for smoking while driving and 29 for switching lanes or overtaking illegally, as well as eight for “illegal taxing.”
