Three of education ministry’s PSIP agreements signed

The education ministry has signed off on three agreements to be conducted under the Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP) budget.

The agreements were signed at a meeting at the education ministry on Monday.

The agreements are on the construction of two classrooms for the HDh Nellaidhoo School development project and developing two-story multi-purpose halls at the schools in AA Thoddoo and R Hulhudhuffaaru.

Interlock Construction has been contracted with constructing the Nellaidhoo School classrooms within 125 days. The education ministry estimates that the building will be usable by December.

Wee Hour Investment has been contracted to construct the multi-purpose halls in Hulhudhuffaaru and Thoddoo, to be completed within 360 days. The education ministry stated that, after completion, the buildings will become usable by August 2020.

The cost of the projects are: MVR 2 million for the Nellaidhoo classrooms, MVR 7.6 million for the Thoddoo multi-purpose hall, and MVR 7.3 million for the Hulhudhuffaaru hall.

MVR 246 million from the PSIP budget has been allocated for the education sector, and the education ministry stated that are working to award 20 projects under PSIP.
