Maldives team has lost the game against Bhutan in the Under 15 category of the ongoing UEFA Assist International Tournament.
While the match was held in Addu Football Stadium on Saturday evening, Maldives lost 2–1.
Within minutes into the game, Bhutan had taken the lead with its first goal. Following their first goal in the sixth minute of the game, the team had directed several attacks to the Maldives team. After a second score from Bhutan, Maldives team had strengthened its game and scored its only goal by the time the first half ended.
Although the Maldives team had gotten many opportunities to score following the goal, it was unable to do so.
Vice President Faisal Naseem attended the match of the UEFA tournament, carried out in line with the government’s vision to broaden the scope of sports development in Maldives.
It is organized by the Maldives Football Association in collaboration with UEFA and is the first collaboration between Maldives and a European organization.
Other countries that join the football tournament are Latvia and Saudi Arabia, who are scheduled to play on Sunday evening.
