Tourism Ministry requests companies to extend construction period
 
The ministry has the authority to extend the construction periods for unfinished projects being conducted on leased land for the development of the Maldives tourism industry
 
These companies will have the opportunity to apply for construction period renewal until August 13, 2pm

Tourism Ministry has requested companies to renew the construction period for projects on leased land before August 13, if they have reached the deadline.

The Ministry stated these companies will have the opportunity to apply for construction period renewal until August 13, 2pm.

In July, the President’s Office publicized Article 52 of the Maldives Tourism Act, which states that the Tourism Ministry has the authority to extend lease periods and deadlines for fees and fines.

According to Article 52, the ministry also has the authority to extend the construction periods for unfinished projects being conducted on leased land for the development of the Maldives tourism industry.
