The Ministry of Education has revealed that they have begun providing counselling for the students of Thulhaadhoo School in Baa atoll.

Permanent Secretary at the ministry, Ahmed Ali revealed that a team from the ministry had arrived in the island on Saturday following reports that students were "fainting" while at school.

Following reports of students fainting, some island residents have linked the matter to a possible “spiritual” being.

Three students have collapsed while at school thus far and expert counselors have since begun sessions for the students.

The ministry arranged the counselling sessions, set to proceed until the matter resolves. Thus far, the team is receiving the full support from the school management and the families of the students affected.

Further, while the students who face this problem have stopped going to school until they feel better, RaajjeMV understands that school sessions proceed routinely.

Some media outlets cite parents of affected students saying that their mannerisms and actions are observed to be peculiar and this only happens when they are at school.
