Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has ordered the suspension of Executive Director at the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, Mahmood Shafeeq.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has earlier revealed that Shafeeq was appointed to the post as all relevant institutions had declared him “corrupt-free”.
However, ACC had forwarded the letter requesting his suspension as the commission is investigating corruption allegations against him.
The commission had during the past month, revealed that they have no record of corruption against Shafeeq.
Shafeeq is accused of registering a bullet-proof car -a gift to the Maldives government from the kingdom of Saudi Arabia- under former Chief of Staff Ahmed at the official residence of former President Abdulla Yameen, Mustafa Mohamed’s name.
