Elections Commission (EC) has publicized the voters’ registry for the Bar Council election on July 13.
Only Maldivians with a license to practice law are allowed to vote.
In a tweet on Tuesday, EC stated that they will be accepting complaints regarding the voters’ registry until Thursday, 2pm.
The recently ratified Legal Profession Act states that the executive committee of the Bar Council will consist of the President, Vice President, and six members.
At a press conference, EC President Ahmed Shareef said ballot boxes will be placed in all the islands.
The deadline to apply for the Bar Council election is July 5, 5am.
