JSC probes 13 cases against magistrates, seven against a criminal court judge

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has begun probing complaints filed against Ahmed Shukoor, Chief Magistrate at the GA. Maamendhoo court.

The commission announced this at a press conference on Wednesday evening, with director Hassan Zaheen saying that four new complaints have been filed against him.

He added that JSC had received complaints against him in the past as well, but did not disclose any details in the matter.

With these four, Zaheen said that the commission is looking into a total of five cases against him.

The JSC director also revealed investigations into Criminal Court Judge Hassan Najeeb.

He said that the commission is currently investigating seven cases against him, including three new ones.

In addition, Zaheen said that they investigating eight cases against the Kaafu atoll Magistrae Mohamed Raghib. RaajjeMV understands that this includes a sexual harassment allegation.

He said that all investigations are being carried out by sub-committees.
