Parliament accepts motion to determine if Justices meet standards
 
He also criticized the Supreme Court by saying that the court always opens its ruling for bidding for major cases, and ruling in favor of the side that submits the largest bid
 
His third motion to request the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to investigate alleged corruption at the Supreme Court was also accepted with 69 votes
 
MP Azim also proposed a motion to investigate the Supreme Court’s attempts to undermine parliamentary powers, which was accepted with 69 votes

Parliament has accepted the motion to determine if all the Supreme Court Justices meet the requirements for their position.

Central Henveiru MP Ali Azim’s motion was accepted with 66 votes on Wednesday.

MP Azim also proposed a motion to investigate the Supreme Court’s attempts to undermine parliamentary powers, which was accepted with 69 votes.

His third motion to request the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to investigate alleged corruption at the Supreme Court was also accepted with 69 votes.

Speaking at Wednesday’s sitting, MP Azim said that no authority has the constitutional power to question parliamentary decisions.

He also criticized the Supreme Court by saying that the court always opens its ruling for bidding for major cases, and ruling in favor of the side that submits the largest bid.
