Member of Parliament for Inguraidhoo constituency, Hassan Ahmed was injured in an accident on Wednesday night.
The MP was treated at ADK Hospital, and photos circulating on social media show that he has attained injuries to his head and leg.
Media official at the Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the accident was reported from capital city Malé and occurred when MP Hassan lost control of his motorcycle after a pedestrian appeared infront of him, abruptly trying to cross the road.
He was rushed to the hospital with the help of an officer on duty in the area.
The accident was reported between 10 and 11pm on Wednesday near Velaanaage on Ameer Ahmed Magu.
Some media outlets have cited his family revealing that doctors have told him to undergo a leg surgery following complications.
