The Islamic Ministry has confirmed that Tuesday is Eid al-fitr.
In a press release, the ministry has stated that the moon has been sighted in Maldives and other Islamic countries, marking the beginning of the month of Shawwal.
Therefore, Tuesday has been designated the first day of Shawwal in the year 1440 in the Islamic calendar.
In the press release, the ministry sent its felicitations to the President, citizens, and other members of the Islamic community.
