A new program was launched on World No Smoking Day to gift bicycles to people who quit smoking.

The program, titled “Quit. Ride. Live Healthy,” is an initiative of the Cancer Society, Bike Maldives, and cessation clinics and was launched by Environment Minister Dr Hussain Rasheed Hassan.

At the launching ceremony, the first bicycle to be gifted under the program was given to Ahmed Rasheed’s 12-year-old nephew, for Rasheed’s success in quitting for four months.

Patients registered at the cessation clinics are eligible for the program and the bicycle will be gifted after a person quits for a year.

The cessation clinic at IGMH is open from 9am to 3pm and the clinic at ADK is open from 10am to 1pm. The Dhamana Veshi clinic is open from 8am to 1:30pm.
