Defence chief returns from Hawaii

Chief of Defence Force, Major General Abulla Shamaal has returned from his trip abroad.
He left for Hawaii last Sunday, to attend the Land Forces of the Pacific Symposium and Exposition (LANPAC 2019); an annual event held by the Association of the United States Army.
The event, focusing on the Indo-Pacific theater and their contributions to peace and war and brings together government and industry representatives in the region, was held from 21-23 May.
During the trip, the defence chief met with US Army Pacific Commander, General Robert B. Brown.
At the meeting, both parties discussed on ways to further strengthen military ties between the nations.
Sergeant Major Hassan Fayaz accompanied General Shamaal on the trip.
