Eight theft cases reported on first day of Ramadan: police
 
One of the biggest out of the eight cases involve the appropriation of over MVR 300,000

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has revealed that eight cases of theft were reported on the first day of Ramadan, Monday.

Noting that theft and robbery cases increase during Ramadan every year, police said that eight were reported from capital city Malé alone, on Monday.

One of the biggest out of the eight cases is a robbery at an office, with MVR 300,000 stolen.

Further, an individual that had attempted to mug an expatriate at gun point, was stopped by onlookers. at around dusk on Monday.

Police also revealed that there have been no reports of individuals eating during the daytime.
