ACC pres. continues to receive full salary despite being absent from work

Luthfy went on annual leave in February

RaajjeMV has learned that the president of the Anti-Corruption Commission has been receiving full salary despite being absent from work for nearly three months.

An anonymous source, within the Commission, told RaajjeMV that Hassan Luthfy has not been to work since February 10.

Noting that he first went on his annual leave that day, the source noted that he failed to return after it ended. The official also noted that he does not have any sick days left.

The source further confirmed that Luthfy has been receiving his full salary despite his absence from work.

While Luthfy has been skipping work, he has been facing criticism over a recent report publicized by the Commission regarding the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations (MMPRC) corruption.

Maldives Police Service (MPS), in February, confirmed that it has launched an investigation into the ACC president, for money-laundering; members of the ACC are reportedly involved in the MMPRC corruption scandal.

Prior to his leave, Luthfy filed a complaint against the state after learning that he was not awarded a flat under the Veshi Fahi Malé programme.

RaajjeMV was unable to obtain a comment from Luthfy at the time of publishing.
