Friday Sermon
Friday sermon calls for solidarity with Sri Lanka after attacks

The sermon stated that it was the duty of Maldivians to show solidarity and help the victims during their time of grief

The Friday sermon has called for Muslims to show solidarity with Sri Lankans over the recent terrorist attacks.

The sermon highlighted that this was the worst tragedy the neighboring country suffered in recent years, and that many of the victims of these attacks were women, children, and the elderly.

The sermon stated that it was the duty of Maldivians to show solidarity and help the victims during their time of grief.

Terrorist group ISIS has claimed responsibility for the coordinated attacks on Sri Lankan churches and luxury hotels on Sunday that left 253 people dead.

Sri Lankan authorities had asked Muslims in the country not to gather for the Friday prayer amid fears of further attacks.
