Maldives embassy in Sri Lankan has said that it has been able to contact the two Maldivians reported missing, after traveling there.
While the country is in mourning following multiple explosions, Maldives embassy on Tuesday tweeted that they “have contacted Mausooma.”
Noting that Mausooma and “spouse” Hassan Aboobakuru were headed to the airport, the embassy said that Mausooma’s family, who reported her missing earlier on Tuesday, has been updated.

Deputy Ambassador Aslam Shakir told RaajjeMV that two Maldivians had been reported missing after family members failed to reach them, adding that they had traveled to the neighboring country “to get married.”
He also emphasized that the matter “is not related to the current situation in Sri Lanka.”
More than 350 people were killed in the deadliest attack in Sri Lanka since the end of the civil war 10 years ago, with at least 500 injured. Sunday’s blasts targeted three churches as well as four hotels.
