President Solih has assured the people that no island will be left out of his development action-plan

Island Council of Guraidhoo in Thaa atoll has revealed that the island’s fishing community is facing challenges because a large part of the island’s harbor is unfeasible.

Vessels have been unable to dock at the island harbor due to the soil underneath being unbalanced.

Guraidhoo councilor Naufal Hassan revealed that three fourth of the island harbor is damaged and unfeasible.

As such, the disproportion of the soil underneath the harbor has become a threat to the island community as well.

Highlighting that the island community is big on fishing, Naufal stated that fishermen face the biggest challenge due to being unable to dock at the harbor.

While it has been many days since the island community has been raising the issue, Naufal said that the former administration had also been notified of the issue. The then government had however no cooperated for the progress of the island.

Naufal revealed that the government has been notified of the issue and that the island community remains in high hopes for a quick solution for the development of the 800-foot harbor.

The island has a population of 2,000 individuals.
