Elections Commission (EC) has warned of the possible increase of invalid votes in the parliamentary election on Saturday.
Speaking to RaajjeMV on Friday, EC member Ahmed Akram said that voters should remember to use only the check mark, as EC will be nullifying ballot papers with any other mark, as per their new regulation.
Akram said that they have completed final preparations for the parliamentary elections and that ballot papers have been distributed to all polling stations.
EC has banned campaign events after 6pm, Friday, and, in order to make voting easier, have prevented registered voters for a particular polling station from exceeding 1,000.
Akram said that their officials will be able to carryout their work offline if any issues arise in their networks and that their ‘ground managers’ will be at the polling stations to help voters find their queues.
