Ministry of Education has denied social media reports that it has been asked to close off all schools over a flu outbreak.
As per social media reports, state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) informed the ministry to close schools over a flu outbreak.
However, in a tweet sent out on Sunday, the education ministry said that “the social media reports are based on false information,” and that “none of the relevant institutions have been informed to shut down schools.”
Earlier in March, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) had revealed that the reported cases of dengue and chikungunya have been on the rise in recent days, across the country, “with no sign of decreasing.”
