ACC investigating cases against six parliamentary candidates
The parliamentary elections are scheduled for April 6

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is investigating corruption cases of eight individuals that are running in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Commission's VP, Muawwiz Rasheed told RaajjeMV that the Commission has concluded the investigations into two of the cases, adding that the candidates have been informed of the matter.

While he added that there was no fraud or corruption, Muawwiz did not disclose the identities of these candidates.

He also noted that the Commission is working to conclude the remaining six investigations before election day.

RaajjeMV understands that the two closed cases are of, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) candidate for South-Henveiru constituency Hussain 'Andhun Hussain' Shameem, and Jumhooree Party (JP) candidate for North-Henveiru, Alhan Fahmy.

The Commission is not just investigating corruption allegations against political party nominees, but also of independent candidates as well.

386 candidates are contesting for the 19th parliament in the 87 constituencies, to be held next Saturday.
