Health Promotion Advisory Board established

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has established the Health Promotion Advisory Board.
The board was formed as part of the government’s pledge to raise awareness on public health.
The Ministry stated that the board will instruct and advice the media on airing messages that promote a healthy lifestyle to reduce and prevent the spread of non-communicable diseases.
The Ministry stated that the board meetings have begun and that they are now involved in various government work including the Ministry of Youth, Sports & Community Empowerment's efforts to train sports councilors in the islands.
The Health Ministry stated that the board has also spread awareness on healthy lifestyles on March 8 at the fitness expo, where information was provided on maintaining mental health, eating healthy foods, and the dangers of tobacco.
The advisory board also plans to meet institutions that organize health programmes to discuss the difficulties they face and how their programme guidelines.
