Former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb has been brought to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital for a consultation with a cardiologist.
The former VP’s spouse Mariyam Nashwa took to twitter on Tuesday upon receiving information that Adeeb was brought and taken back from IGMH on Tuesday.
Nashwa wrote that the documents she received from the Maldives Correctional Service last week shows that her husband was consulted to a neurologist. He had evidently taken an MRI scan for his brain.
The former VP’s wife went on to question the authorities as to what had happened. She wrote that the doctors’ instructions are clearly not being followed.

According to the documents Nashwa publicized along with the tweet, Adeeb had lost consciousness twice, the first time being last year and the second being in January this year.
The doctor had in the documents stressed that Adeeb had attained head injuries due to the collapses.
Further, the doctor revealed that Adeeb has been diagnosed with a disorder called Somatoform Autonomic Dysfunction which makes him prone to severe neurological symptoms such as headaches, abdominal pain and fatigue.
The doctors have recommended him to exercise regularly and for him to be kept in a stress-free environment. He is not to be left alone as he is prone to collapses.
RaajjeMV understands that Adeeb was shown to a cardiologist on Tuesday.
In late January the Supreme Court had nullified the High Court’s order to transfer the former VP to house arrest, until it reaches a decision in the appeal filed by the state.
Owing to Adeeb’s deteriorating health, his family has been continuing their appeals on authorities to transfer him to house arrest which was initially done at year end in 2018. However, he was transferred to prison against doctor recommendations in January.
