People’s National Congress (PNC) has condemned police’s use of pepper spray to disperse supporters of former President Abdulla Yameen when he was admitted at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital on Wednesday.
In a press release on Friday, PNC stated that the action of the police had disturbed their peaceful gathering.

PNC also denied the police service’s statement that officers had repeatedly warned supporters not to enter the cardiology center at once, and used pepper spray after they refused to listen and began creating a disturbance.
The police service has stated that it is illegal to form gatherings at hospitals.
