Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has concluded his trip to Malaysia and returned to Maldives on Thursday night.
During his trip, Maumoon met with Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Bin Mohamed and invited him to Maldives on behalf of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Also, on behalf of the Maldives President, Maumoon requested the Prime Minister’s help in solving the difficulties Maldivians face in acquiring visas.
During the meeting, they discussed rising sea levels and environmental changes and Maumoon also disclosed details of the Maldives government coalition’s work to reform the country.
During his trip, Maumoon also met with Maldivians living in Malaysia.
Maumoon was accompanied by Aminath Nadira and Abdulla Kamaludeen, who are senior members of the Maldives Reform Movement (MRM).
