President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is currently in North Huvadhu atoll on a one-official trip.

The president arrived at Kooddoo Airport on Wednesday afternoon, and received a warm welcome from the community.

Before departing to neighboring Villingilli island, Solih toured the island’s jetty area.

He then traveled to Villingilli, where members of the community gathered to welcome him and later met with members of the Gaafu Alifu atoll council.

The president will then travel back to Kooddoo island, where he is to inaugurate the “Madhoani Account,” which will enable fishermen to easily participate in the banking system by allowing them to deposit and withdraw their earnings while staying in their own islands.

“This will also enable fishermen to access bank loans and credit schemes,” highlighted the President’s Office.

Cabinet ministers are to take part in the event as well.
